Thank You for Your Journey with Summon
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of the Summon Platform.
We launched Summon with the belief that every Cardano community deserved access to tools for decentralized coordination and collaboration. It has been our privilege to contribute to Cardano's story by providing infrastructure for multisig treasuries, voting, and DAO implementation. We remain incredibly proud of the people and projects who have used our tools to empower their communities.
Unfortunately, we have not found a sustainable business model to support the platform's long-term viability. Summon has never been profitable, nor has it generated enough revenue to sustain itself. Our team has managed to cover infrastructure costs through contract work and special events, but we no longer see a viable path to profitability.
The good news is that the Cardano ecosystem has made tremendous progress since we began. We would be more hesitant to step away if strong alternatives didn't exist, but today several excellent teams are building tools for community coordination and voting. These include our friends at PolySign, Mesh, Clarity, Tempo, Ekklesia, and various Cardano wallets with integrated multisig features.
Some have encouraged us to seek support through Catalyst, Builder DAO, or other grant programs. While that might extend operations temporarily, we believe it is better to help our users transition to other platforms that can grow with them in the long term.
At this time, we've closed the ability to create new Communities and Polls but we will keep the Multisig interface running for a bit longer for anyone who wishes to finalize transactions. Polling data will be sent to community owners upon request. As part of our shutdown plan we have created a portal where all Summon users can retrieve their multisig scripts and are working with other tools to provide a seamless transition.
Although this is the end of the Summon Platform, it is not the end for the community that formed around it. The builders behind Summon will remain active in the Cardano ecosystem, and we know that all of you who used the platform will continue to share your ideas with the world.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey.
P.S. Always remember, the Summon Platform does not have custody of any user funds and all the assets in your Multisig treasuries are safe on the Cardano blockchain, ready for your script to be imported into another tool. We will provide updates at https://summonplatform.io and through our official X account @SummonPlatform - do not interact with anyone else claiming to represent the Summon Platform as it will likely be a scam!
